England’s Lake District is to me a real place of inspiration. Its rambling footways present a landscape whose colours change not just with the seasons but hourly, with the weather. The lakes reflect both the stillness and the movement of this. Adjusting to the slower pace required to take this in, brings its own magic too. The constant changes in colour are mirrored here in the pieces shifting harmonies, and its this that provides a gentle momentum, and an invitation for the listener to stroll.
